Structural Foam Injection Molding Machinery Melt Cylinder and Standoff Retrofit
The melt cylinder retrofit is for replacement of the air cylinder and spacer only for structural foam machines that already have a TSDSF-0108 style melt relief valve assembly, but not the newer designed air cylinder and aluminum spacer (5.5” x 3.75” x 2.12” tall) under the air cylinder instead of standoffs.
Melt Relief Cylinder Design Factors
The melt relief valve cylinder is attached to the side of the melt relief valve body and actuates the relief valve stem to open or close the passageway for dumping plastic. This area has always been adversely affected by high heat, and Uniloy has continuously striven to improve the machines performance in this area. This retrofit enables you to benefit from the latest improvements:
New improved rod seal design will increase the seal life by a factor of two.
The new stainless steel piston rod helps keep heat away from the seals by dissipating it faster.
Stainless steel stand-offs replace the aluminum spacer to decrease the area of heat retention and to also help dissipate the heat away from the rod seals.
The combination of these changes provides for longer seal life, which then in turn computes into less downtime and maintenance.
