Consolidated Container Company Continues Growth, Adds Capacity with Uniloy Milacron Blow Molding Machines
ATLANTA, GA - July 6, 2005 - Consolidated Container Company (CCC) is embarking on a multimillion-dollar expansion that will include the purchase of multiple Uniloy Milacron blow molding machines for its North American operations, further strengthening its position as one of North America's premier suppliers of rigid, blow molded plastic containers. "This is one of the largest blow molding machinery transactions in North America in the last few years, indicative of the improving conditions that CCC and Milacron see developing in the market," said Steve Macadam, CEO of Consolidated. Both companies are optimistic that the market for blow-molded containers is starting to show signs of recovery and growth, after several years of difficult market conditions.
CCC's announcement of the additional manufacturing capacity comes on the heels of its 2005 acquisitions of STC Plastics, Inc. (STC) and Mayfair Plastics, both located in the Los Angeles area. "Combining these acquisitions with the upgrading and modernization of our manufacturing equipment through measures like these recent purchases of Uniloy Milacron machines will enable us to continue the significant improvements we've achieved in productivity, quality and safety, and allow us to increase our ability to fill our new business pipeline for profitable sales opportunities," Macadam added.
"It certainly is gratifying to see an industry leader such as CCC make this type of investment in advanced manufacturing technology," said Ronald D. Brown, chairman, president and CEO of Milacron. "This is a positive sign for the entire industry."
