Milacron LLC and FANUC Announce their Continued Partnership

Builds upon 26-year relationship and ensures molders the best in all-electric machines and industry-leading expertise and support

BATAVIA, OHIO, January 5, 2010... Milacron LLC and FANUC Ltd. announced today the renewed partnership between the two companies, continuing Milacron’s exclusivity to provide the Roboshot all-electric injection molding machines to manufacturers throughout the Americas.

This cements the 26-year relationship between the two companies that combines the highest quality, efficient injection molding equipment with industry-leading applications expertise and support. The Milacron-FANUC combination of advanced technology and deep knowledge has propelled the Roboshot to a position atop the market and has helped customers achieve a competitive edge.

“This relationship has brought great innovations and game-winning solutions to the industry for over a quarter century,” said David Lawrence, President Milacron Worldwide Plastics. “The Roboshot is known throughout the industry as a workhorse for its accuracy, repeatability and ease of use, as evidenced by the largest fleet of all-electric machines in the Americas. Strengthened with Milacron’s deep understanding of molding processes, markets and manufacturing environments, customers benefit tremendously.”

The Roboshot is part of Milacron’s earth-friendly commitment to the industry, an initiative of particular importance in North, Central and South America where the need for energy efficiency, coupled with repeatable, precise, high-performance manufacturing is prominent. Mold protection, artificial intelligence controls and unmatched reliability are benefits that make the machine ideal for nearly any industry including medical, packaging, electronics, and automotive in both developed and emerging markets in the Western Hemisphere.

“We are pleased that the industry can continue to rely on the relationship between FANUC and Milacron in bringing the Roboshot to market,” said Dr. Yoshiharu Inaba, President and CEO at FANUC. “Customers will benefit from technologically advanced equipment supported by a skilled Milacron team with strong expertise in bringing applications-specific solutions to every operation.”

Much of the large installed base of Roboshots today results from molders converting from hydraulic to all-electric presses. With more than two decades of experience, Milacron has been instrumental in honing the analysis of each customer transition from hydraulic to electric by tying together the proper application, press sizing, installation and training to uniquely maximize the benefits for each customer. Most recently, product line expert Kent Royer was promoted to Business Unit Manager for the Roboshot, overseeing all sales and operational aspects of the offer, ensuring Milacron’s continued dedication to the service and support of the existing fleet of Roboshots, and solidifying the ongoing commitment to the success of Roboshot customers in the future.

Milacron LLC and its businesses are committed to being the leading suppliers of plastics-processing technologies and industrial fluids around the world. The people of Milacron’s companies know what matters in manufacturing, and every day, put this knowhow to work to help customers improve productivity, cut costs, increase energy efficiency, eliminate scrap and reduce cycle times.
