Milacron Charts New Course for its Custom Machining Business

Milacron Machining uniquely positioned to meet demand for precision machining of large parts

Mount Orab, Ohio – February 10, 2010 – Milacron LLC, a leading global supplier of plastics processing technologies and industrial fluids, is expanding the reach of its custom machining business, Milacron Machining.

After years of supplying Milacron LLC’s plastics machinery business and other companies in the industry, Milacron Machining now is applying its sophisticated precision machining expertise to produce large, complex parts for markets including wind power, oil and gas, heavy machinery and others.

Milacron Machining’s facility features a state-of-the-art, ISO 9001:2000 and 14001:2004 certified manufacturing environment, complete with specialized equipment to machine tight-tolerance and large parts up to 150,000 pounds. The plant includes climate-conditioned as well as secondary metalworking areas, all staffed by skilled employees who average 23 years of experience in the industry.

“We’re seeing a shortage of specialty machining providers in emerging markets like energy and alternative power,” said Dave Lawrence, President of Milacron Worldwide Plastics. “To support these customers’ success, we’re now investing differently in our machining business. By leveraging our competencies in new ways, we’re able to meet vital precision machining needs in these growing manufacturing sectors.”

Centrally located to serve companies across North America, Milacron Machining provides unique capabilities including the capacity to handle very large parts as well as small to medium lots of custom, design-driven components. In addition, a variety of job and industry-specific certifications enable the company to meet manufacturers’ most exacting needs.

“We’re excited to apply our advanced capabilities to help companies in new markets,” said Jim Kinzie, plant manager at Milacron Machining. “Our expertise and knowledge allow us to serve a broader range of customers and give them the competitive edge they need to succeed.”

To launch the expanded business, the company is rolling out a marketing campaign that highlights its institutional knowledge, broad expertise and record of success in custom precision machining, centered on the theme of “Smart. Skilled. Proven.” For more information, visit the new Milacron Machining website at www.milacronmachining.com.
