High Performance Flexibility

Uniloy Milacron’s UMS Continuous Extrusion Shuttle Blow Molding Machinery is the most flexible and widely-used process worldwide for highest performance specialty applications up to 30 liters. The continuous extrusion shuttle can process virtually all commercial resins, enabling you to produce everything from tiny cosmetic containers to largest industrial packaging.

The UMS Head design is engineered for quick changeover and PWDS (optional) radial parison control to reduce weight, increase strength. Containers are fully trimmed in machine, oriented in stand-up position. Shuttle process features co-extrusion capability for containers up to 7 layers with in-mold labeling capability. The Uniloy Milacron UMS 100.D with 100 kN clamp force is ideal for production a 5 liters jerry-cans, co-extruding a 4-layer parison with PE, PE regrinded, tie-layer, polyamide structure. The UMS 100.D coex4 is a double station model designed to match the needs of agrochemical and pesticide sectors. Each layer is fed by its own extruder to perform the most precise thickness control. Shuttle movements and open/close movements are on horizontal linear guides with a closed-loop proportional control. Single station configurations are also available.

Coextrusion capability is a strength of the UMS Series, producing containers with up to 7 layers. The UMS 150.D coex6 is the perfect choice to prevent O 2 and UV rays permeation for a food container with barrier properties. The electronic unit provides the operator with a “user-friendly” interface to get a steady process. The 3D take-out unit allows a very quick and safe mold change. High reliability is guaranteed by the use of components (extruder, head, clamp, hydraulics) already extensively proven with other technologies of Uniloy Milacron.

Very frequently used for the production of 5 liter lubricating oil containers with a 2+2 cavity configuration, the UMS 220.D features a 220 kN clamp unit with no tie-bars. Other standard features include: heads up to 12 parison, grooved barrel extruder to process VHMWPE, in-machine automatic trimming device, and 3D take-out unit.

With its solid construction, the UMS 220.D can be easily configured for any application, single or double station, from single parison head for stackable jerry-can to multi-cavity co-extrusion for consumer bottles.

The Uniloy Milacron UMIB 300.D is the largest continuous extrusion machine with 300 kN shuttling clamp unit, able to produce from 30 liter stackable jerry-cans in a 1+1 cavity to small containers in 14+14 cavities configuration. Head and extruder have been designed to process VHMWPE, while the innovative TCS, Thickness Compensation System, allows a perfect profiling of the container wall thickness. A very compact footprint has been obtained thanks to the 2D take-out unit that brings the containers from the second post cooling station onto a linear conveyor. User friendly interface control and accessibility to all components are the key features of the UMIB 300.D.
