Uniloy Introduces The UR65 Reciprocating Screw Series

A new smaller system for emerging markets at a lower initial investment.

Tecumseh, Michigan, June 8, 2009…Uniloy Milacron North America is meeting global market needs by introducing the new smaller Uniloy UR65 reciprocating blow molding machine. This machine was designed for customers who need low to medium volume productivity, reduced energy usage, and a lower capital investment. The first system is being delivered to a custom molder in South America.

“We’ve found that packaging production needs vary widely around the globe – this new addition enables us to deliver a competitive solution in emerging markets who need low cost, but don’t want to compromise efficiency or quality,” said Richard Smith, Uniloy’s Commercial Director.

Like all Uniloy systems, the UR 65 leverages Uniloy’s systems design philosophy. Uniloy can assist with container and mold design to ensure weight, sustainability, and lowest cost per container targets are achieved.

The Uniloy reciprocating screw design enables the fastest parison delivery with superior control. Primary advantages over wheel and shuttle blow molding machines include lower energy costs, shorter dry cycle time, lower melt temperature, smaller machine system footprint, simplistic durable design. A wide range of head, clamp and extruder selections allows Uniloy Milacron to configure machines to desired production volumes and container specifications.

Uniloy originated the lightweight, handled, plastic milk jug in 1963, and its reciprocating blow molding machine has since become the "industry standard," with more than 3,800 in use worldwide. In addition, the company provides a full range of turnkey system services, including container design, mold development and manufacturing, prototyping and pre-production runs, and system commissioning – as well as an extensive parts and service network. The company has facilities in Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, United Kingdom, Mexico, China and India, in addition to the U.S. For additional information, visit www.milacron.com/dairy
