Processing I, Control Utilization

This class is a comprehensive study of the control and control capabilities to teach machine setup and molding. Sessions include solutions for fill and packing related defects, velocity and pressure setup, alarm and fault menus, shot traces and SPC menus, and plastic materials and their processing behavior.

Processing II, Process Optimization

This class is designed to “Improve the Process” by reducing cycle time and scrap rate. Sessions include machine setup and processing techniques, processing parameters relating to part quality to optimize each portion of the process and troubleshooting molded part defects.

Processing III,”Hands‐On” Process Utilization & Troubleshooting

This class is designed to enhance skills previously established in Processing I and/or II and further develop processing knowledge for the experienced personnel. Processing III seminars are designed to increases analytical ability for troubleshooting processing related part defects.

  • Review mold installation
  • Establish proper machine settings
  • Set up and optimize the molding process
  • Hydraulic, position and cavity transfer
  • Establishing gate freeze and melt flow
  • Troubleshoot molded part defects
  • Stress analysis – orientation

Hands‐On Exercise
A series of interactive learning exercises at the machine site so students can analyze, troubleshoot and utilize the machine control to correct the molding process.
