With over 13 years of experience at Milacron’s global headquarters in Batavia, Ohio, Hugh Polk currently serves as a Technical Lead in New Product Development (NPD), embodying our commitment to expertise and innovation.

A proud graduate of North Carolina State University with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Hugh has dedicated his career to advancing Milacron’s market-leading solutions and recently on P-series . His technical journey has been diverse, focusing on designing complex mechanical components and systems for both our blow molding and injection units, as well as providing leadership to the Aftermarket Engineering group for barrels and screws. This wide-ranging experience across Milacron’s core product lines highlights his versatility and deep technical knowledge.

Driving Innovation and Efficiency

Hugh’s work directly reflects Milacron’s mission to be a partner that delivers innovation, constantly seeking to “Find a Better Way” for our customers. His biggest accomplishment to date exemplifies this innovative spirit:

• Leading a NPD project (P – Series) to design and harmonize a global e-drive solution for our machinery, which significantly improved energy efficiency for our customers and achieved a notable 25% cost reduction. This initiative showcases how our engineering teams transform complex challenges into tangible solutions, enhancing performance and operational efficiency while considering sustainability.

Beyond the Blueprint: Community and Teamwork

At Milacron, we value our people and a strong sense of teamwork. Hugh brings this collaborative ethos to his work and his personal life.

In his free time, Hugh demonstrates our values of integrity and community engagement. He enjoys working on projects around the house where he applies his engineering mindset to everyday challenges! He gives back to his local community through his church’s food pantry. And, music is often how Hugh unwinds after a hectic day at the office.
