ASSOCIATE SPOTLIGHT: STEVE LOWE

Steve Lowe began his tenure with Milacron in 1985 as a co-op in the Machine Tool Division at the Cincinnati headquarters, laying the foundational groundwork for a distinguished career spanning decades in the field of plastics processing solutions. Since his initial role, he has significantly contributed to various engineering facets, working on industrial blow molding machines, horizontal injection molding machines, and vertical injection molding machines in both production and development capacities. This diverse experience has provided a comprehensive understanding of the full product lifecycle and the intricate demands of industrial machinery design.

Throughout his extensive career, the development of injection units has been a professional highlight, representing key innovation milestones. Notable achievements include leading the development of the initial 110-160 mm units, engaging in critical cross-functional collaboration with FME on common global units, and spearheading the engineering of the substantial 130,000 unit. Furthermore, he demonstrated exceptional program management capabilities by overseeing the successful development projects for the MP and C-series product lines. This included managing the launch of two of the largest Milacron machines ever produced, the C6000 and the C7120, in a strategic collaboration with Milacron India, showcasing expertise in international project coordination and large-scale engineering solutions.

Currently, Steve’s multi-faceted responsibilities include serving as the US New Product Development (NPD) Manager, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of innovation. He also holds critical roles as the ANSI and ISO Safety Manager, where he champions adherence to rigorous global safety standards, and as the Intellectual Property (IP) Manager, safeguarding the company’s innovative designs and technological advancements.

Steve holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University and a Master of Business Administration (MBS) from Xavier University in Cincinnati, coupling technical prowess with strategic business acumen. In his personal time, he maintains a balanced lifestyle through engagement in soccer, spending time outdoors, family activities, and various home improvement projects.
